It's game day! The Chicago Blackhawks are in Ottawa to face the Sens tonight. Ottawa is looking to rebound back after their
3-2 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers. The last meeting between Chicago and Ottawa resulted in a 6-5 win for the Blackhawks. Since then, Chicago has acquired two former Sens, Peter Regin and David Runblad. Will that have an impact on tonight's game? Here are the story lines:
- With Regin and Rundblad back in Ottawa, former friend and teammate, Erik Karlsson, decided to take both out for dinner last night to see what the two have been up to since leaving Ottawa.
|
Which one forgot to invite Mika? |
- Some bad news heading into the game as Blackhawks rookie, Teuvo Teräväinen will be playing in his second NHL game tonight. He did not score in his first outing, so we all know what's going to happen tonight:
|
When you're in need of scoring you first NHL goal, just board a plane to Ottawa. |
- More bade news, as Bobby Ryan will be out of the lineup for the rest of the year after having season-ending surgery yesterday to fix his sports hernia. Jerry Cowen and Chris Phillips decided to drop in on Ryan during surgery, which was not a good idea.
|
Surprisingly, the Junior Mint did not end up in Ottawa's net after Phillips and Cowen bobbled it. |
- Craig Anderson returned from injury Tuesday, but did not get the start against the Panthers. During yesterday's practice, Eric Gryba and Robin Lehner collided, resulting in Lehner leaving the ice with a minor injury. This injury means that Craig Anderson will be the starting goalie tonight, and that everything went exactly according plan.

There's an outside chance this transaction was simply Anderson paying Gryba for some of his VitaBeard pills. |
Enjoy the game!
